Nebraska Hematology-Oncology (NHO) is excited to announce the appointment of Lisa Jansen as its new Chief Executive Officer, following an extensive national search process. Holding more than 18 years of experience as a healthcare executive and leading high-performance growth organizations, Jansen will conduct all elements of NHO’s vastly growing operations that serve patients with cancer and blood disorders in Southeast Nebraska and beyond.
“We are absolutely elated to welcome Lisa to our practice,” commented Dr. Eric Avery, medical oncologist at NHO. “Her background and knowledge of how to successfully grow healthcare organizations is impressive and her desire to lead an organization dedicated to serving patients first was evident during all our encounters in this search process. Her successes at Nebraska Medicine and throughout her career really speak to her firm grasp of how to run an organization and her collaborative approach will fit in with our already outstanding team of staff and providers.”
Jansen comes to NHO following a successful tenure at Nebraska Medicine, most recently serving as Director of Digestive Diseases, Kidney, Transplant, and Specialty Care programs where she implemented strategies that generated triple-digit growth. Prior to this role she held positions as Nebraska Medicine’s Business Manager for Internal Medicine as well as the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s Administrator for the Division of Rheumatology and had served in analyst and management positions at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC).
“I am thrilled to join the physicians and team at Nebraska Hematology-Oncology,” commented Jansen. “The commitment to provide personalized exceptional care to each patient shines through in all they do and the culture is one I am proud to be part of. I look forward to the future as we work together to serve the patients and our community!”
Jansen will take the place of Amy King, who retired from NHO in September 2024 after more than 30 years with the organization. She will be only the second person to hold this position at NHO and will begin her role on February 3, 2025.
