Helping Children Understand Chronic Illness Through Medical Play
When a child has a loved one facing a chronic illness, they’re often exposed to unfamiliar words, medical equipment, and experiences. This can lead to confusion, stress, and anxiety.

Medical play offers a hands-on opportunity for kids to explore both real and play medical equipment in a safe, supportive environment. It helps reduce fear by familiarizing them with what may otherwise seem intimidating. It also encourages open conversations—giving children the chance to ask questions and allowing a certified child life specialist to gently address any misconceptions.

If your child has a loved one with a medical illness, we invite them to join us at Hope Huddle on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. This session will be a supportive space for kids to connect with peers in similar situations, helping them feel less alone.

Now open to both NHO and outside patients.
Spots are limited, so please register as soon as possible. Registration will close once all spaces are filled.
